About the Society for Diversity

       Established in 2009, The Society for Diversity is the #1 and fastest growing, nationwide association for Diversity & Inclusion (D&I). Leah Smiley, President, had an epiphany while pregnant with her second child, and formed the organization within days of giving birth. Mrs. Smiley envisioned a global professional association dedicated exclusively to the field of diversity and inclusion.

       The mission of the Society for Diversity is to educate and equip diversity executives and professionals with the tools needed to design and execute effective diversity and inclusion strategies; share information and resources through an international business network; and establish a global standard of quality in the field of diversity.

       Currently, members represent 28 states and the world’s leading companies. The Society for Diversity provides monthly webinars, a free monthly newsletter, free books on management and diversity, complimentary invitations to exclusive diversity events, and other resources to members. Additionally, the Institute for Diversity Certification, a subsidiary, designates Certified Diversity Executive (CDE) and Certified Diversity Professional (CDP) credentials to indicate excellence and expertise in the field of diversity.
